Complaint to GMC by Charles Medawar of Social Audit

Now this in interesting. Read it here: –
< http://www.socialaudit.org.uk/6070228.htm >Complaint to GMC by Charles
Medawar of Social Audit

Please circulate this.

The British General Medical Council will try Dr Andrew Wakefield in a16
week hearing but not do anything about a medical doctor employed by
GlaxoSmithKline, Dr Alistair Benbow, has made all manner of claims about
GSK drug Seroxat which were known to be false. Seroxat is called Paxil in
the USA.

< http://www.socialaudit.org.uk/6070228.htm >People killed themselves after
taking Seroxat and others were injured by and became addicted to it. GSK
were arraigned on criminal charges by New York Attorney General Elliott
Spitzer accused of fraudulent marketing of the drug. This happened when
the US FDA would do nothing about this alleged criminality. GSK did a deal
to get off the charges.

The BBC’s flagship Panorama investigated the claims and broadcast four
programmes on this dangerous drug. And the GMC stalks Wakefield but does
nothing to bring this GlaxoSmithKline doctor to book.

It speaks volumes.

"If I had to do it all over again, I don’t think I would use the
Ontario system," said Canadian cancer patient Lindsay McGreith. "I
would get my wife to drive me to Buffalo, because I know in Buffalo
you’d get looked after, whereas here you’d just sit for seven and a
half hours. … Our system is lousy." McGreith’s comments are in a
soundbite and B-roll video package (basically, an unassembled video
news release) distributed by the PR firm MultiVu and funded by Health
Care America, which is funded in part by pharmaceutical and hospital
companies. It’s part of an organized industry response to the Michael
Moore movie "Sicko." Another MultiVu fake news video, which was funded
by America’s Health Insurance Plans, promotes a "public-private"
health care system and decries Moore’s single-payer proposal as an
unpopular, "simplistic" and unrealistic "public takeover of the
healthcare system."

DR. MERCOLA: Finally – Even Dental Association Agrees Fluoride is Bad

http://v.mercola.com/blogs/public_blog/Finally—Even-Dental-Associat…

Linked at:
http://ilena-rosenthal.blogspot.com

The American Dental Association, which has for many years been one of
fluoride’s biggest advocates, alerted its members late last year that
parents of infants younger than a year old "should consider using
water that has no or low levels of fluoride" when mixing baby formula.
However, while public health agencies in some states, such as Vermont
and New Hampshire, immediately issued warnings in the media based on
the ADA alert, other states took months to relay the message.

Florida’s Department of Health put the message on its website four
months after it was issued along with a note that read: "Mixing
formula with fluoridated water poses no known health risks."

The ADA was concerned about fluorosis, a condition caused by too much
fluoride that damages the enamel of teeth. Some scientists believe
that even mild to moderate cases of fluorosis can lead to more
significant problems. Studies have associated fluorosis with lower IQ,
endocrine system problems, and skeletal damage.

St. Petersburg Times June 4, 2007

Dr. Mercola’s Comment:

After more than half a century of denial, the American Dental
Association has finally capitulated to the facts and issued warnings
on the dangers of fluoride.

Adding fluoride to drinking water (to prevent tooth decay) has been
standard practice in many countries for 60 years. But the practice has
come under scrutiny, as fluoride has been banned by more and more
European countries.

Unfortunately, too much fluoride can lead to fluorosis, a discoloring
of the teeth and breakdown of enamel — itself a result diametrically
opposed to the dental health it supposedly is meant to prevent — and
more serious developmental problems such as lower IQ. Excessive use of
fluoride also increases the risk of osteoporosis and can damage the
nervous system.

Children enrolled in the Women, Infant and Children’s Nutrition
program (WIC) are particularly at risk, since the WIC program only
subsidizes powdered and condensed baby formulas that have to be mixed
with water.

If you are unable to breastfeed, please educate yourself on the
dangers of fluoride (an industrial waste product from the phosphate
fertilizer industry) as well as the health risks of using infant
formulas. Instead of mixing already unhealthy formulas with
fluoridated water, take the advice from my series, Healthy Alternative
to Conventional Infant Formula, which includes recipes for healthy
homemade baby formulas.

Recently I posted a video with award-winning author Christopher
Bryson, in which he reveals the dangerous deception at the heart of
the unnecessary use of this toxic chemical. If you didn’t see before,
here’s your second chance.

Applesauce with the skins.

Has anyone found a place to buy applesauce made with the skins? I
think some types of babyfoods do this because of the nutrients in the
skin, but I’m looking for a big people version. Thanks!

SPLENDA

THE LETHAL SCIENCE OF SPLENDA,
A POISONOUS CHLOROCARBON
By James Bowen, M.D.

Posted: 08 May 2005

James Bowen, M.D., A physician, biochemist, and survivor of aspartame
poisoning warns about yet another synthetic sweetener, Splenda.

Hawaii, May 8, 2005 — The chemical sucralose, marketed as "Splenda", has
replaced aspartame as the #1 artificial sweetener in foods and beverages.
Aspartame has been forced out by increasing public awareness that it is both
a neurotoxin and an underlying cause of chronic illness worldwide. Dr. James
Bowen, Researcher and biochemist, reports:

"Splenda/sucralose is simply chlorinated sugar; a chlorocarbon. Common
chlorocarbons include carbon tetrachloride, trichlorethelene and methylene
chloride, all deadly. Chlorine is nature’s Doberman attack dog, a highly
excitable, ferocious atomic element employed as a biocide in bleach,
disinfectants, insecticide, WWI poison gas and hydrochloric acid.

"Sucralose is a molecule of sugar chemically manipulated to surrender three
hydroxyl groups (hydrogen + oxygen) and replace them with three chlorine
atoms. Natural sugar is a hydrocarbon built around 12 carbon atoms. When
turned into Splenda it becomes a chlorocarbon, in the family of Chlorodane,
Lindane and DDT.

"It is logical to ask why table salt, which also contains chlorine, is safe
while Splenda/sucralose is toxic? Because salt isn’t a chlorocarbon. When
molecular chemistry binds sodium to chlorine to make salt carbon isn’t
included. Sucralose and salt are as different as oil and water.

"Unlike sodium chloride, chlorocarbons are never nutritionally compatible
with our metabolic processes and are wholly incompatible with normal human
metabolic functioning. When chlorine is chemically reacted into
carbon-structured organic compounds to make chlorocarbons, the carbon and
chlorine atoms bind to each other by mutually sharing electrons in their
outer shells. This arrangement adversely affects human metabolism because
our mitochondrial and cellular enzyme systems are designed to completely
utilize organic molecules containing carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and
other compatible nutritional elements.

"By this process chlorocarbons such as sucralose deliver chlorine directly
into our cells through normal metabolization. This makes them effective
insecticides and preservatives. Preservatives must kill anything alive to
prevent bacterial decomposition."

Dr. Bowen believes ingested chlorocarbon damage continues with the formation
of other toxins: "Any chlorocarbons not directly excreted from the body
intact can cause immense damage to the processes of human metabolism and,
eventually, our internal organs. The liver is a detoxification organ which
deals with ingested poisons. Chlorocarbons damage the hepatocytes, the
liver’s metabolic cells, and destroy them.

In test animals Splenda produced swollen livers, as do all chlorocarbon
poisons, and also calcified the kidneys of test animals in toxicity studies.
The brain and nervous system are highly subject to metabolic toxicities and
solvency damages by these chemicals. Their high solvency attacks the human
nervous system and many other body systems including genetics and the immune
function. Thus, chlorocarbon poisoning can cause cancer, birth defects, and
immune system destruction. These are well known effects of Dioxin and PCBs
which are known deadly chlorocarbons."

Dr. Bowen continues: "Just like aspartame, which achieved marketplace
approval by the Food and Drug Administration when animal studies clearly
demonstrated its toxicity, sucralose also failed in clinical trials with
animals. Aspartame created brain tumors in rats. Sucralose has been found to
shrink thymus glands (the biological seat of immunity) and produce liver
inflammation in rats and mice.

"In the coming months we can expect to see a river of media hype expounding
the virtues of Splenda/sucralose. We should not be fooled again into
accepting the safety of a toxic chemical on the blessing of the FDA and
saturation advertising. In terms of potential long-term human toxicity we
should regard sucralose with its chemical cousin DDT, the insecticide now
outlawed because of its horrendous long term toxicities at even minute trace
levels in human, avian, and mammalian tissues.

"Synthetic chemical sweeteners are generally unsafe for human consumption.
This toxin was given the chemical name "sucralose" which is a play on the
technical name of natural sugar, sucrose. One is not the other. One is food,
the other is toxic; don’t be deceived."

Dr. Bowen also calls attention to another seldom recognized and deadly
permanent effect of these chemicals: "Aspartame, sold as NutraSweet, Equal,
E951, Canderel, Benevia and under other names, is a hypersensitization agent
which causes Polychemical Sensitivity syndrome. Chlorocarbons strongly
induce uncurable hypersensitivity diseases which are now becoming rampant."
(James Bowen, M.D.)

Doctor Bowen has spent 20 years researching artificial sweeteners after his
use of aspartame resulted in being diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Dr
Bowen’s intention is to warn the world of the toxicity of tabletop poisons
like aspartame, Splenda and Neotame.

Note by Dr. Betty Martini:

Dr. Betty Martini says "the controversy rages over Splenda (sucralose). Is
it safe and natural like sugar or is it a chlorinated hydrocarbon? As
lawsuits fly, consider the chemistry of this artificial compound."

She adds: "The FDA denied approval of aspartame for 16 years, then caved in
to political/economic pressure when Don Rumsfeld, CEO of the manufacturer,
was brought to Washington by Ronald Reagan. A new FDA Commissioner was
appointed to approve it then became a consultant for NutraSweet’s public
relations firm for $1,000/day on a 10 year contract. Forthcoming has been a
global epidemic of disability and death. One might expect FDA to be more
cautious next time, yet FDA approved the toxic chlorocarbon Splenda without
hesitation and without any long term testing on human subjects."

Fish oil improves reading in ADHD kids

"Fish oil improves reading in ADHD kids", Sydney Morning Herald,
Australia, June 26, 2007,
Link: http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/Fish-oil-improves-reading-in-ADHD…

Daily doses of fish oil appear to help ADHD kids read, write and spell
better, Australian research suggests.

Researchers from the University of South Australia and Queensland
University of Technology found that the Omega-3 fats in fish oil
appear to boost literacy in hyperactive children.

The results were anecdotal, but lead researcher Dr Natalie Sinn said
they were "significant" and would now be studied further.

"A quarter of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD) have learning difficulties, but we saw substantial improvements
in this area," Dr Sinn said.

"The Omega-3s clearly seems to help in this way specifically, but
we’re not exactly sure how yet."

The research team are further investigating the link between fish oil
and ADHD after an initial study was completed last year.

The research found notable improvements in half of the 145 children
who took fish oil capsules over 30 weeks.

These kids took oil rich in the long-chain Omega-3 fatty acids called
EPA, but the team are now studying whether the other acid, DHA, can
also help.

"We now want to find out which of the two is most important," Dr Sinn
said.

"We know that Omega-3 fatty acid DHA is also very important for brain
development, and many parents are confused as to which formulation of
fatty acids to buy for their children."

The new study will also investigate why some children responded better
to the oil treatment than others.

Dr Sinn said there was evidence that people with ADHD and other
emotional disorders may have difficulty metabolising Omega-3, a
problem which may actually have contributed to their condition.

The team will test blood fatty acid levels in the children to see if
they can establish patterns between levels and treatment response.

"It might be that some children need higher doses to get the
benefits," Dr Sinn said.
